About Bear Naked
Bear Naked makes whole grain granola and snacks in the United States using non-GMO ingredients, building on the natural foods tradition established by its Connecticut founders who built the brand from a home kitchen into the country's leading natural granola brand.
Heritage & History
Brendan Synnott and Kelly Flatley founded Bear Naked in 2002 in Norwalk, Connecticut, making granola in Kelly's family kitchen from whole grain oats, nuts, and natural sweeteners. The founders sold the granola at local farmers markets and natural food stores, building a following among consumers who wanted granola made with real ingredients rather than the commodity products filling supermarket shelves.
The company grew rapidly through the 2000s as natural and organic food became mainstream consumer interests. Kellogg's acquired Bear Naked in 2007, but the brand maintained its commitment to non-GMO ingredients and whole grain formulations. Bear Naked granola remains manufactured in the United States and sold in natural food stores, grocery chains, and online.
Made in the USA
Bear Naked granola and snack products are manufactured in the United States using whole grain oats, nuts, honey, and natural flavoring. The granola uses non-GMO ingredients and is made without high-fructose corn syrup, artificial flavors, or artificial preservatives. Varieties include Fruit and Nut, Maple Pecan, Vanilla Almond, Triple Berry, and Peanut Butter, along with seasonal and limited-edition flavors.
The product line includes standard granola, granola clusters, trail mix, and protein granola with additional plant-based protein. All products follow the founders' original philosophy: simple, recognizable ingredients in formulations that actually taste good. Bear Naked's commitment to non-GMO certification means all ingredients are traceable and tested. For consumers who want granola that performs as well nutritionally as it does as a breakfast or snack, Bear Naked's American-made products deliver.
