About American Made Socks

American Made Socks is a house brand of Alabama Wholesale Socks, a family-owned hosiery mill operating two plants in Fort Payne and Sylvania, Alabama, historically known as the Sock Capital of the World.

Heritage & History

Alabama Wholesale Socks was founded by Tommy Evans, who grew up in Fort Payne, Alabama, once known as the Sock Capital of the World. After serving in the Navy and returning home, Evans began selling socks to coworkers at the chemical plant where he worked as a side business, which grew over more than two decades into a full hosiery mill serving customers from Walmart down to individual resellers.
