About Nova Maple Syrup
Nova Maple Syrup is a family-run maple syrup producer founded in 2015 by Jake and Hailee Leveto on a farm in Hartstown, Pennsylvania.
Heritage & History
Nova Maple Syrup began as a hobby in the winter of 2013, when Jake Leveto tapped 50 trees on a 1.5-acre property and boiled sap over an open fire, producing 17 gallons of syrup that first season. Over the next two seasons he and Hailee expanded the operation, eventually installing vacuum tubing and tapping 200 trees before deciding to pursue maple syrup production commercially.
In 2015, Jake and Hailee purchased a 100-acre property in Hartstown, Pennsylvania, and began their first commercial season in January 2016 with roughly 7,500 taps. The operation expanded further with the purchase of three additional properties in 2017, growing to 22,000 taps at its peak before the family chose to downsize and refocus on value-added products, retaining their original 100 acres in Hartstown.
Made in Hartstown, Pennsylvania
Nova Maple Syrup's full line — maple syrup, maple candy, maple cream, granulated maple sugar, and barrel-aged syrup — is produced at the family's sugar shack on their original 100-acre property at 5950 Roemer Lane in Hartstown, Pennsylvania. The company states in customer correspondence that syrup 'comes straight from our sugar shack in PA,' and confirms its production facility is nut-free.
The Levetos continue to operate the farm as a family business, offering local pickup by appointment and farm tours through Airbnb Experiences for visitors interested in seeing how the maple syrup is made.
