Heritage & History
Flowtron Outdoor Products has been manufacturing electric insect control equipment in Waltham, Massachusetts for decades, building a product line centered on outdoor bug zappers that use ultraviolet light and high-voltage killing grids to control mosquitoes, flies, and other flying insects. The company's products carry the Made in America emblem and are UL Certified for outdoor use.
The brand has built its reputation on durable polycarbonate construction that resists the UV degradation, moisture, and temperature extremes that outdoor equipment must endure. Unlike cheaper imported alternatives that crack and fade within a season, Flowtron's American-made housings are engineered for multi-year outdoor service.
Made in Waltham, Massachusetts
Flowtron manufactures its bug zappers and insect control equipment in Waltham, Massachusetts, where the company has operated since its founding. The product line ranges from compact half-acre coverage units for residential decks and patios to large 2-acre commercial models suitable for farms, restaurants, and event venues.
The company's octenol attractant cartridge technology enhances mosquito attraction by releasing a chemical that mimics human breath, increasing the effectiveness of UV-only zappers by drawing mosquitoes toward the killing grid. This dual-lure approach — UV light plus octenol attractant — is more effective than UV alone and has become a standard feature in Flowtron's residential product line. For Americans who want outdoor pest control built domestically to commercial standards, Flowtron's Massachusetts manufacturing and UL certification provide that assurance.
