Heritage & History
Cra-Z-Art began as a New Jersey-based arts and crafts company before strategically investing in American manufacturing to become the largest US footprint in the toy and school supply industry. The defining move was the acquisition of the Rose Moon factory in Lewisburg, Tennessee — the largest pencil manufacturing facility in the United States — giving Cra-Z-Art the capacity to produce pencils that compete on both price and quality with any imported alternative.
With over 1 million square feet of domestic manufacturing space across Tennessee and Florida, Cra-Z-Art has backed its Made in America commitment with capital investment. The company's 'Made in America' pencil line carries explicit marking on every package and is manufactured from real American wood at the Tennessee facility.
Made in Tennessee & Florida
The Rose Moon facility in Lewisburg, Tennessee is the heart of Cra-Z-Art's domestic manufacturing. This factory produces the USA Gold Pre-sharpened No. 2 pencils and the Made in America resharpened pencil lines — products that are specifically engineered for the demands of standardized testing, everyday classroom writing, and professional use.
The Jacksonville, Florida manufacturing and distribution center supports additional product assembly and the company's large-scale logistics operation. Together, the two facilities represent a meaningful investment in keeping pencil manufacturing on American soil at a time when most competitors have moved production overseas. For every package of Made in USA pencils sold, a portion of the manufacturing jobs remain in Tennessee and Florida communities.
